The creation of "Mrs. Fairfax"

First things first: I adore the authenticity of historical materials as well as the notions of “Vintage” and “Shabby Chic”. The beginnings of “Mrs. Fairfax” are based upon my personal hunt for lovable unique pieces at vintage shops and flea markets around the globe. I refinded the treasures I found and combined them with other materials, giving them a second life. Ever so gradually, the unique pieces transformed into my all-time favorites. My friends have always loved my favorites and told me they would like to buy such pieces, too, if they could find them in the shops”. When creating my first line of one-of-a-kind pieces made out of mangle fabrics in 2009, I had the idea to share the joy that I was feeling with others.

The story behind "Mrs. Fairfax"

In one of the old pictures of my great grandmother, I discovered a nice label. All I needed now was a proper name for my brand. I wanted it to sound international and aspiring, along with conveying an historic aura. Since I was born in the city of Fairfax, Virginia, in the United States, which is close to Washington D.C., it made sense to me to combine my heritage with “Mrs”, a polite way of addressing a woman. I had found the name for my brand: “Mrs Fairfax”: a name with which I am delighted. Following that, I created my new favorite pieces: The line of the “First Ladies”. This is how this webshop was born.” Dive into the world of “Mrs. Fairfax” and enjoy your very own hunt for your unique and favorite piece!
